They are formulating a trial @ MSKCC combining Dasatinib and Nilotinib to see if this will delay the onset of resistance in CML, but of course it first has to undergo Phase One for toxicity, so it will be years before they know.
I also can't imagine being on 2 kinase inhibitors at the same time as one is tough enough on our systems, nor signing up if I was stable on one, but I guess some will.
There is a new exciting trial that will be opening up soon for GIST at MSKCC combining "SAHA" Suberoylanilide Hydroxamic Acid" ( a histone deacetylase inhibitor-a very exciting new class of anti cancer molecular therapy, previously mentioned here) with Flavopiridol. They both show potent anti-KIT activity in vitro.

Doris, another idea to ask Dr. George about is to go back on Gleevec and add rapamune with it. Maura is on this combo now...

I am having scans done on Monday & will meet with Dr. George Wednesday so I will let you know if the Rapamune is making a difference!!
