Research Summary
Dr. Thornton is currently the director of the adult musculoskeletal department in the Division of Medical Oncology at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center. She is an active member of the Sarcoma Alliance for Research through Collaboration (SARC), as well as the Connective Tissue Oncology Society (CTOS), two multi-institutional, international research groups dedicated to developing new therapeutic strategies for patients with sarcoma.
She is the principle investigator on many different clinical therapeutic and diagnostic trials for patients with soft tissue and bone sarcoma, and is co-investigator on a novel institutional study evaluating the use of bacteria as a cancer therapeutic.
