ADHESIONS/INTESTINAL BLOCKAGE:
I had my visit with a Gastroenterologist last week and it went great. The Dr. was probably the best doctor I have ever spoken with. He took lots of time did his homework on my case before I got there and also took the time to have me speak with the Top GI doc at the hospital. They have decided that I should switch to the MIRALAX. 1/2 capful everyday and a full cap full if I feel a blockage coming on. He would like me to drive down to see him during my next blockage and left instructions on my chart to have me admitted, give me an IV and anti-nausea med, then call him. The reason for this is that the blockages are becoming more frequent and lasting longer. He is pretty sure that the problem is where the small and large bowel connect, directly under the right rib cage. I will be given a MRI at the hospital during the blockage to confirm this theory. All in all it was an informative visit. He promised I wasn't some kind of Head Case which is what my local doc's seem to think. It was worth the three hour drive just for that!!!
